Principal's Message
![]() Welcome to Pawhuska Elementary for another school year. We pride ourselves on our warm, welcoming atmosphere and our high academic standards, which are the cornerstone of our school. Our community recently passed a bond issue and major renovations are taking place at almost every school site. I invite you to be an involved part of our school and your child's education. Together, there is so much that we can accomplish to enhance our children’s future. We believe that the goal of education is to produce contributing members of society. We believe that all students can learn and succeed. Thus, we provide a quality curriculum that incorporates strategies to address a variety of learning styles and cultures to meet the individual needs of all students. Students at the elementary have a sense of belonging within the school community. Teachers facilitate instruction so that all students are engaged in learning. We start each day with a test prep time where we stress reading and math strategies and good test-taking techniques. We are fortunate to have wonderful students, staff and parents who are dedicated to creating a learning community in which every person can grow and thrive. Our focus will center on helping our students be successful in meeting their academic goals.
The Pawhuska Elementary Faculty is one of the most academically diverse and talented faculties I have encountered in many years. These ladies and gentlemen love their profession and are truly here ‘for the children’. They love coming to work each day and enjoy each others company as colleagues and friends. These educators constantly strive to create the dynamic learning community that challenges students each day.
We hope our website will answer any question you may have about Pawhuska Schools. Suggestions are welcome. We want to make it a site to be informative not only for our parents but also for future-parents of our district!
Our curriculum is strong and focuses most especially on the
core subjects of Reading,
Language Arts and Mathematics. In addition, our content areas round out the
academic spectrum, and we have instruction in Music and Physical Education.
In the event you need more information, please feel free to contact me via my email address, lpotter@ppshuskies.org or call me at 918-287-1965.
If you are in the Pawhuska area, please give me a call to set up a time to visit our beautiful schools and see our great staff and students in action!
Thank you for visiting our website. I look forward to an exciting and educational school year.
